Saya adalah 'reseller' kepada barangan-barangan bayi, cloth diaper, avent, aksesori, beg-beg yg cute (boleh muat h/p) lebih kurang macam sling bag la dan juga barang-barang perhiasan rumah yang diperbuat dari kulit kayu manis dan etc. Saya ada juga menjual baju branded untuk baby seperti Carters, Gymboree, George, Next, Guess, Baby Gap etc yang semuanya dari UK, US dan Jepun. The Purpose of Cloth Diaper
The purpose of a diaper is to absorb moisture and contain mess so that the wearer can remain dry and comfortable after wetting or soiling themselves. When diapers become full and can no longer hold any more waste, they require changing.
Material of Diaper
Diapers can be made of either cloth or disposable materials. Whereas cloth diapers are comprised of layers of fabric such as terry towelling and can be washed and reused multiple times, disposable diapers contain absorbent chemicals and can be thrown away after use. The decision to use cloth or disposable diapers is a controversial one, due to issues ranging from convenience, health, cost, and their effect on the environment.
Why and Benefits of Using Cloth Diapers?
More Economic-- Yes, cloth diapers are cheaper than disposable. Any way you do the math, cloth wins.

Environmental Friendly.
Cloth Diapers are more environmentally friendly! Cloth diapers can be wash, reuse and recycle. With cloth diapers you are not throwing thousands of pounds of non-biodegradable waste into the landfills each year.Cloth diapers should be the Reduce, Re-use, and Recycle product of choice! It only takes 3 dozen good quality cloth diapers to diaper at least 2 children for a grand total of 4-6 years, then you can use the worn diapers as rags for another 5 years, then you can throw the scraps in the compost bin, where the natural fibers will biodegrade.
Health Issue.
Disposable diapers contain Carcinogenic Dioxin, which in various forms has been shown to cause cancer, birth defects, liver damage, and skin diseases, genetic damage, is a by-product of the paper-bleaching process used in manufacturing disposable diapers, and trace quantities may exist in the diapers themselves. Disposable diapers contain gel-like beads Sodium polyacrylate, make diapers super absorbent. It ‘pulls’ natural moisture from baby’s skin, encouraging irritation. It can cause severe allergic reactions including vomiting, infections and fever. Disposable diapers also contain TRIBUTYL TIN – Highly toxic pollutant. It has hormone-like effect in smallest concentration. It harms the immune system and impairs the hormonal system.
Earlier toilet training.
This may not hold true in every case, but there's no denying that cloth diapers are a lot more "realistic" than disposables. A wet cloth diaper feels wet to a child, whereas a disposable diaper continues to feel dry.
Less diaper rashes.
No doubt, it may depends on the child, but that cloth seems to maintain a better moisture environment for my daughter's skin than disposables. You can also feel more easily when your child is wet and change her as often as necessary. And there's no increased cost if you need to change your child more often with cloth diapers, whereas with disposables it can really add up if you are changing your babe more frequently due to rash or diarrhea. One study from the Journal of Pediatrics indicates that 54% of one month olds in disposable diapers had some type of rash, 16% were severe. Rash medication can be expensive. A tube of one of the leading makers of rash medicine costs approximately $6. This is just a small expense, but multiply that expense over three years and it quickly starts to add up.

Why Cloth diapers ? Saving the environment, 1 baby at a time.....
Another reason why I cloth diaper my son is the realisation to this question :Would you like to wear disposable panties for 3 years of your life? So whose comfort do we work for ? Our convenience or the baby's comfort? If we can ask any baby which will they prefer, dispoable diapers of cloth ? I am sure majority will prefer cloth.
Some parents think that for cloth diapers, have to change more frequently. What we may fail to realise is that both options require constant changing. It is just that for disposable diapers, they are so aborbent because of the chemical in them ( I was surprised to find beads of gel on my son's bottom during a diaper change to learn that it is a chemical component in the diaper that makes it absorbent!). This makes parents think that the disposable diaper is still "dry" and can "tahan" till more "full" then change.
Cloth diapers on the other hand, you can change as often as you like, and you just have to rinse the pee or poo off and sit it in the "dry pail" till it is full, and do a laundry wash. If I use nappy liner, most of the poo will be caught by it, I just dispose the nappy liner into the dustbin. A pack of 100 nappy liners cost about $10. Talk about cost savings!
And cloth diaper makes potty training easier, as they have the wet sensation. Most parents are told to wait till the child is 2 or 3 years then do potty training and not to stress the kids of they are not ready. So, for the first few years, they are conditioned to wear their toilet wherever they go, and at 2 years old, they have to unlearn and go for potty training...well, for my son, during appropriate times, like in between changes, before and after nursing, and upon wake up and before sleep, are opportunities to let them "release" - there is no stress if they choose not to. I will say "Shee Shee" or "ng ng" - I do get some happy experiences that he does go. Ha ha!
Here is a pictorial step by step of how to prepare and use the clot h diaper:
Lay out the cloth diaper, insert, and the nappy liner.
- Stuff the insert into the cloth diaper, through the back opening.
- Lay the nappy liner onto the cloth diaper.
- Now you can lay the baby on top and use it just like a dispoable diaper.
- The velco will hold the baby in place, and swift fastening for wigglingly babies.
- The snaps are used for adjusting the setting. If left unsnap, is the largest setting. Snap one down for medium setting. Smallest setting for baby under 3 months.
Also very important to prewash your cloth diapers and inserts at least 3 times in the washing machine before use, to increase its absorbency and wash away the chemicals left during the manufacturing process.
If you need to go out, very simple. Use one cloth bag (called wet bag) to bring home the soiled cloth diaper, inserts and nappy liner, preferably can seal, so as to keep the smell. The other is to pack in a change of 1 clean cloth diaper, 2 inserts and 2 nappy liner. This should last you about 6 hours.
